Rules of netiquette

Netiquette  refers to Internet etiquette. This simply means the use of good manners in online communication such as e-mail, forums, blogs, and social networking sites to name a few. It is vital to use netiquette because communication online is non-verbal and we lack of gestures, facial expression, etc to show our reaction to another person. Here are some rules of netiquette:  Don’t be rude or abusive.  (What works in real life, works in the Internet. We should always respect people we communicate with and treat them as good as we can) Be as brief as possible.  ( Nowadays being laconic is a real skill, nobody wants to waste his time looking for desirable information in the message with huge prehistory or stories one is not interested at all) Don’t make people read the same thing more than once.  (Once again don’t make people waste their precious time on studying the information they already know) Put your best foot forward.  ( It’s a topi...

Lecture 1

In this lecture the general information about social psychology was given: the brief history, basic terms, main points. During the course we are going to find out the peculiarities in communication between people, people in a group and between groups. Theoretical basis was the main approaches, the types of research in social psychology, the rules, the methods. I’ve realised the course didn’t  seem difficult at first, but later on I was eager to get to grips with all of the processes and situations. To tell the truth I’m not a big fan of lots of theory, especially when it is scientific and kind of professional, but the tasks gave a bit of practice on real situations. The test after this module wasn’t that difficult, but the situation given in each task truly helped to figure out some peculiarities of the terms and their meanings. The test result:
